Greeks

Ancient Greece was one of the biggest and most successful empires of all time. Many things including laws, literature, and arts owe many of their qualities to the Greeks as they were pioneers in all of these fields and helped to shape them into what we know them as today. So when Greeks were put under Ottoman control they started a nine-year revolt to escape their exile. The Greeks finally earned their freedom from the Turks in 1828. During this time the Greeks were loved and loathed by many people.

Most Europeans struck out against the Ottomans because they had destroyed the Greek nation. The Ottomans had trampled upon “the sciences the arts and the human race” thus many Europeans supported the Greeks in their rebellion. Europeans also supported the Greeks in their cause because the Ottomans were a gunpowder empire, which meant that they were not afraid to take over more European Nations. The Greeks were a peaceful people and would not attack its European neighbors.

Obviously the Ottomans thought that the Greeks were evil because they were revolting against the Ottomans. The Greeks were stealing animals, ransacking towns and killing people. This did not make the Ottomans happy. The Ottomans thought that the Greeks were revolting because they thought that Christianity was being threatened, overall the Ottomans thought that the Greeks revolt was silly and that they had no grounds to be doing so.
